The dictionary defines empowerment as deriving the strength to do something through one’s own thoughts and based on the belief that one knows what is best for oneself.

Another definition given on The World Bank’s website defines empowerment as the process of enhancing the capacity of individuals or groups to make choices and to transform those choices into desired actions and outcomes.

Our thoughts and beliefs, the choices we make and the actions we take can lead to transformational change.

Belief is such a powerful word. It can limit you or it can liberate you. Belief is also the first step to empowerment and transformation. What do you believe? Unless you know yourself, know your own strengths and weaknesses, know what defines you and your deepest wants and needs, you might still continue to live in the lies about yourself. We hope that some of the articles we post on social and emotional health, character and life skills, and parenting pages are beneficial for your reading and self-empowerment.

And sometimes, even after we believe in ourselves and find success, it is possible to lose that belief and struggle again. It is important to keep learning how to come back to that belief.

It is our hope that our pages on our site would inspire parents and children to believe and be empowered.

Believe in yourself and be empowered.

Believe in your child, and you empower him.

Here is a story to inspire you. Michael Phelps is one of the most decorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 28 Olympic medals, 23 of them gold, spanning over four Olympic Games. You would have thought that his success and fame has him made for life. Read how he went through the lowest points in his life in 2014 and yet turned his life around. He went on to win another 6 medals (5 gold and 1 silver) at the Rio Olympics Aug 2016.
