Memories are etched in time. I visit my mom every year in Singapore and whenever I am there with her, she will always recollect stories of my childhood spent with her and my late father.
Memories are treasured moments – so often played out in the minds and hearts of our later years. That made me think how precious were the moments and time spent with my parents. One can miss important work schedules, forget to buy a gift or miss doing some household tasks, but these can always be caught up later. But time lost in spending with our children is sometimes much more difficult to make up for.
The greatest investment in any relationship is TIME.
TIME is the most precious gift that we can give to our children.
Mark Twain wrote, “We are always too busy for our children; we never give them the time or interest they deserve. We lavish gifts upon them; but the most precious gift, our personal association, which means so much to them, we give grudgingly.”
Give your child the gift of time and truly know your child.
