Parents are welcome to register and join in the fun too.

5 one hour classes $20 per class or all 5 for $90.

Each week we will work on a different fibre or yarn project. We will learn to knit, weave, make felt and more. Students are welcome to come to as many (or as few) classes as they like. We will be doing something new each week.

Freestyle weaving for Adults (ages 13 and up) - 4 weekly classes
(2 hours each)

In freestyle weaving "there are no mistakes". Learn how to weave creatively on a rigid heddle loom. Sign up for one or more classes. The looms will be set up and ready for you to "just weave".  You will take home your weaving at the end of the night.

If you sign up for more than one class, you will be able to use the same loom and weave a larger project. You will also have the option of learning to set up the loom yourself if you like.

$50 for each class or $150 for the full series of 4 classes. All materials and supplies and the use of a loom are included in the price. You are welcome to bring some of your own yarns to use in your project if you like. Even short leftover bits can be used in freestyle weaving.

I'm an artist, writer, world traveler and workshop facilitator from Vancouver Canada. I studied weaving with a master weaver for about 10 years.

I am interested in many different types of art - travel sketching, fibre art, mixed media and I'm thinking of learning more about acrylic painting.

For my weaving, I use a Beka rigid heddle loom. My weaving teacher introduced this style of loom to North America and helped to design the Beka loom. It is a very simple and elegant tool that can be used to do many types of weaving. It is ideally suited to "freestyle weaving" - weaving that has no mistakes.
